Brandon & Natalie met at a small group Bible study from the Baptist Student Union during their freshman year of college. Brandon caught Natalie's eyes because he was wearing a Houston Astros t-shirt, which was Natalie's great-grandfather's favorite MLB team. Natalie started a conversation with Brandon about her shared love of the Astros, which sparked the beginning of a close friendship between the two.
Natalie and Brandon were both kinesiology majors at Mississippi State University, and Brandon would pass by Natalie's office on a regular basis in McCarthy Hall. This led them taking frequent lunch breaks together at the Perry Cafeteria & Fresh Foods Company on campus, as well as many study sessions at the Mitchell Memorial Library.
What started out as friendship led to Brandon asking Natalie to go on their first official date to the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge on August 17, 2019. There, Brandon would also ask her to become his girlfriend on November 1, 2019. After graduating in 2021, the couple set on a new journey of maintaining their relationship through long distance as Brandon lived in San Marcos, Texas and Natalie lived in Jackson, Mississippi. After 4 years of dating and many plane rides later, the two fell in love and Brandon returned to the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge on May 17, 2024 to ask Natalie to be his wife.
